Causas de la no participación de los varones en el Programa de Salud Sexual y Procreación Responsable : Andalgalá Catamarca 2012-2013 / Miriam Ivana Moreno

RESUMEN Los derechos reproductivos se asocian generalmente con la Libertad reproductiva de las mujeres, es decir, su capacidad para decidir ser madres e incluyen a todas las personas, sin importar su sexo. Están relacionados con el ejercicio de la sexualidad, el derecho a la información y el acceso a los servicios para proteger la salud reproductiva de la pareja, aunque en el imaginario colectivo no siempre se considera a los varones corno poseedores de tales derechos. El propósito de esta investigación "Causas de la no participación de los varones en el programa de salud sexual y procreación responsable. Servicio de obstetricia- hospital 'José Ch Herrera "Andalgala —Catamarca periodo 2012-2013" ha sido Identificar las causas por las cuales los varones residentes en el departamento Andalgala Provincia de Catamarca no participan en el Programa De Salud Sexual Y Procreación Responsable. Se presenta a continuación un estudio de tipo cuali-cuantitativo, descriptivo, transversal, para ello se realizaron encuestas a 159 varones de 15 a 45 años de edad (Unidades muéstrales que representan el 52% del universo). Los resultados arrojaron que El 72% de la población en estudio manifestó no participar del Programa De Salud Sexual Y Procreación Responsable, mientras que solo el 28% participa. El 70% manifestó no tener conocimiento sobre el Programa, el 45% no participan por la indiferencia de la pareja, el 40% A causa del machismo y el 15% con motivo de causas religiosas. Se resaltó como factor barrera a las pautas culturales, también se encontró que existe una estrecha relación entre el nivel de instrucción de los encuestados y su participación en el programa. El 50% de los encuestados consideran que el programa está dirigido a mujeres y el 39% a varones, no conocen un 16%. El estudio reflejó que el programa de salud sexual y procreación responsable no posee estrategias de acción directas que incluyan los varones, que los servicios de salud no están preparados para la atención de los mismos y que influyen en esto tanto las pautas culturales como así también la poca participación dada al varón por parte de la pareja.
ABSTRACT Reproductive rights are general associated with women´s reproductive freedom - that is to say, their capacity to decide to be mothers, or not- ani include all people, regardless their sex. The/ are related with the exercise of sexuality, the right for ínformatíon and the access to the services to protect the reproductive health of the couple, even though in the collective imaginary men are not always considered as holders of those rights, whích is caused; among others, by cultural and social aspects. The purpose of this investigation has been to ídentify the causes by which men residing in the department of Andalgalá, Province of Catamarca, do not partícipate ín the Sexual Health and Responsible Procreation Programme. A cualitative-cuantitative, descriptive and cross-sectional type of study is presented as follows. For thís purpose, 159 men from 15 to 45 years old (sample units that represent the 52% of the uníverse) viere surveyed. The results showed that the 72% of the population under study manifested not particípating ín the Sexual Health and Responsible Procreation Programme, while only the 28% does particípate. The 70% expressed not having knowledge regardíng the existence about the Programme, the 45% does not particípate due to the couple's indifference, the 40% because of machismo and the 15% because of religion causes. Cultural aspects were highlíghted as a barrier factor and it was also found that there is a close relationship between the leve) of instruction of the participants and their participation in the Programme. The 50% considers that the Programme is directed towards women and the 39% thínks it is directed towards men, while a 16% does not know. The study reflected that the Sexual Health and Responsible Procreation Programme does not possess direct action strategies that ínclude men, that health services are not prepared for their care and that cultural aspects as well as the low participation that men are given by their couples have an ínfluence on the results.
